Information You Provide
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered in a search form are sent to the independent provider that serves the results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the content of your message and use it only to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting records routine server-log details, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to operate and improve the service. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
We use the limited data to run the service, diagnose problems, understand traffic in aggregate, and improve the reference pages. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
External Websites
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and independent search services. Their own privacy rules govern information you submit after leaving this service, including information sent through sponsored results.
Who Can Receive Data
Hosting and support providers process the server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the technical data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires it.
Data Security
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or visitor profiles stored by this site.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent information, and we will remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Minnesota's Consumer Data Privacy Act, Minn. Stat. ยงยง325M.10-325M.21, effective July 31, 2025, may provide rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain uses of personal data held by covered private businesses. Because this service retains very little, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and server logs and removing any applicable information. Use the Contact page to ask. Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. Chapter 13, governs government-held public records; requests concerning those records must go to the responsible state, county, or city custodian.
Policy Updates
Changes will be published here. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
